It is lightweight enough to avoid soil compaction and can access areas in your yard that a large tractor cannot reach.

Flail mowing
Flail mowing is an affordable option for mowing down tall grasses and weeds that can take over your yard, especially on Kauai. Our service uses a small but powerful Berta brand flail mower with swinging y-blades to clear your land and leave a nicely mulched field at a 2-inch height.
pricing: $75 an hour, an extra $20 per hour fee for grass taller than 3 feet
tilling
Tilling can be used to break up the soil for planting or as a weed control measure. However, we advise against tilling an area excessively, as it can lead to the development of hardpan soil. Typically, we use tilling once in an area to loosen the soil for a new planting or to incorporate cover crop seed for planting.

rotary plowing
rotary plowing is a method used to break up fresh ground and is less harmful to soil compared to tilling. We recommend plowing for various purposes, such as loosening compact soil(followed by tilling), creating raised market garden-style beds, or constructing swales for runoff water.
